PosSource : The Edge - 25 Feb 2009

BS Group Holdings announced today the completion of structural works of its 340,000 sq ft office at Changi Business Park, paving the way for the relocation of its key operational functions there.

As one of the largest financial services groups in Asia with 15,000 staff and operations in 16 markets, the new building is named DBS Asia Hub.

More than 2,400 staff, about 15% of DBS’ total workforce or 35% of Singapore-based staff will relocate from locations like DBS Tower 1 at Shenton Way and Technopark@ Chai Chee to the new building in the first quarter of 2010. This move will consolidate most of the bank’s technology and operations units under one roof.

The DBS Asia Hub is part of a comprehensive, multi-year strategic occupancy programme announced by the bank in 2007. This includes the relocation of DBS Group’s headquarters to the Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) in Singapore, and various business units to One Island East and Millennium City 6 business complexes in Hong Kong.

In 2013, DBS will consolidate its various customer facing units, trading operations and corporate headquarters at MBFC Tower 3. DBS will be the anchor tenant taking up a net floor area of about 600,000 sq ft. As of March this year, 1,700 staff, or 50% of total staff strength in DBS Hong Kong, have moved to their new locations.
